Nigeria MPs want to do an audit to look how many Chinese people live illegal in the country. It’s maybe strange but it has its reason. About 20 000 Nigerians live legal in China and there is an unknown number of Nigerians who lives illegal in China.
About 700 Nigerians are in prison accused of drug or fraud offences and because they stay illegal in the country. But there is maltreatment of Nigerians in China and certainly in prison. A Nigerian men died recently because he run away during a protest action for a better care of the Nigerian prisoners.
China also asked to cremate 30 bodies of which they claimed that they can’t find the family of them.
Al this proposals make the MPs angry. They ask the government to not give the permission. They find it inhuman that there are so many Nigerian people are maltreated in foreign parts.
They hope on a harmonious diplomatic cooperation between Nigeria and China. Because there are also about 20 000 Chinese immigrants who live in Nigeria. They claim also that the Nigerians are not the only people who live somewhere illegal. For this reason they want to do an audit, to check how many Chinese immigrants live in Nigeria.
On the one hand it’s strange to do an audit to the number of illegal people in the country. But on the other hand I’m sure that they strive for a better treatment of the people. It’s a good case if this will be reached. But I think that there will be always maltreatment no matter what they do.
